The time has come for us to put out another call for funding. ADvindicate operates solely on donations, and we have been astounded, time and again, at the generosity of our readers, and at the providence of God.
Our immediate needs include money to fund a trip to GYC in Houston, TX, at the end of this year. GYC, or Generation of Youth for Christ, is the largest Seventh-day Adventist youth gathering in the world. These youth are the future of our church, and we want to provide a service by which they can engage in discussions about important issues facing our church and become more firmly grounded in the truth.
Looking to 2017, our long-term needs fall into four basic categories. Our biggest expense, by far, is publishing articles. Our goal is to publish three articles per week, which will cost us about $17,200 between now and this time next year. A second major expense is editorial help and website maintenance, which we pay for by the hour. $5000 per year can cover this expense. The third category of major expenses is the different services we pay for to keep the website up and running, which can be covered by about $2000 per year. Finally, attending conferences such as ASI (Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries) and GYC can run us about $10,000 per year. That puts our total ideal budget for the next year at $34,200.
As the end of 2016 approaches, our church and our world face many terrible crises. We are one year closer to seeing our Lord return in the clouds, but before that happens, the Gospel of the Kingdom must be preached to all people. Please prayerfully consider donating to our ministry, so that we may do our part to “make straight the way of the Lord.”
