Sharing ADvindicate's articles is one of the best ways you can support ADvindicate, and an integral part of its growth. If we compare the number of pageviews over the last six months to the same time period last year when ADvindicate launched, you'll see a 289 percent increase.
Another metric that gives us a better idea of our readership is unique visitors. Within the first six months of our launch we had 16,500+ unique visitors, but during the same period this year we had 40,500+ unique visitors. That's a 143 percent increase.
What is significant about this growth is ADvindicate grew from scratch. It did not have an initial print readership. So just based on word of mouth and digital sharing, our audience has grown tremendously. This is why I want to continue to emphasize the importance of sharing the articles you enjoy. There are a number ways to share ADvindicate's content.
Social networks make it easy for you to share ADvindicate's articles. This is why ADvindicate has a presence on Google+, Facebook and Twitter. If you're already on one of these networks, then all you have to do is visit us and Like, Follow or Plus us to begin receiving our content. Then share it with the rest of your friends. Click on an icon to check out our social networks.
So you can share directly from your own social network or right from the article's page. Perhaps most of you were unaware that you could do this. At the end of each article, you'll see this:
If you like what you read, we encourage you to click on the heart to indicate that you liked it. You can do this for comments too. This is available to everyone, and does not require being connected to a social network. If you are on Google+, Facebook or Twitter, then take a second to click on Share.
A menu will drop down just like the picture on the left. There are more options than just the three I've mentioned and all will work.
ADvindicate has 163 followers on Twitter, 328 Likes on Facebook and 254 Pluses on Google+. Over a 1,000 people subscribe via email, which brings me to another way you can share.
Not all of us are social network savvy. You can always email articles to your friends. Some choose to forward the newsletter ADvindicate sends out, and others do a simple copy and paste of the link or whole article.
Others like to print it off and hand it out. Whatever your preferred method of sharing, I want you to know that it helps in a big way in growing ADvindicate's audience. Our mission is to publish a Christ-centered, Bible-based, Seventh-day Adventist perspective on current events and issues within the church.
And if you think a particular article is achieving that goal, then it should be shared with as many people as possible.
So give it a try and share this article as a practice run. If you have any questions about how any of this works, please ask in the comments below.
