Northern California Conference faces tough questions in upcoming constituency session

The Northern California Conference  (NCC) 2014 constituency session is scheduled for May 18th of this year.

Several churches have drafted additional agenda items to be discussed, including evolution, homosexuality, and women's ordination. These proposals are simply urging the conference delegates to vote to comply with the Bible and General Conference policy.

You will find the proposals regarding creation/evolution, homosexuality, and women's ordination on pages 88-89 of the delegate materials, with further explanation and documentation in the attached 19 page footnotes file. The applicable portions of church policy are already highlighted.

These motions appear to be a response to the NCC's practice of ordaining women since the August 2012 Pacific Union vote, and concerns regarding homosexuality and evolution.
