In an online discussion posted on Outside the Pulpit, David Asscherick shares his thoughts on unity, diversity, and women's ordination. Asscherick says, "When it comes to the issue of women's ordination, I don't see anything in the New Testament that prohibits the ordination of women to the pastoral ministry" (22:00). Asscherick is the co-director, along with Ty Gibson and James Rafferty, of ARISE and Light Bearers. While Asscherick is favorable to women's ordination, an August post on his personal Twitter account states he is not favorable to the recent votes from the Columbia and Pacific Unions:

In a tweet posted the next day, Asscherick said he would be writing an article addressing the problems he sees with ordination, but also a solution. At the time this post was published, no article had been published.
