A PRAYER FOR THE 2022 GENERAL CONFERENCE SESSION

Dear Heavenly Father:

As delegates from throughout the world assemble for the 2022 General Conference session, we ask that traveling mercies be granted to them all as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri.  We invite Your sacred presence into this solemn and pivotal gathering of Revelation’s end-time remnant.

We plead for an outpouring of Your Holy Spirit on all who assemble there.  May the delegates recognize the weighty trust invested in them, and may Your wisdom attend each discussion and each decision.  Especially we ask that Your enlightenment be granted to the members of the nominating committee as they choose the church’s leaders for the coming term of office.

May Your Holy Word and its obligations reign supreme over all competing considerations—supreme above human culture (whatever label it wears), human opinion, human scholarship, and human experience.  May all forces seeking to dissuade the church from fidelity to Your written counsel be defeated.  And may the agenda of that written counsel be newly inscribed upon the hearts of all who represent Your church at this meeting.

In a world convulsed with hatred, polarization, injustice, and increasing violence, may a new determination be instilled in all to reproduce the pure, spotless, self-sacrificing character of our Lord in thought, word, and deed, through the power He alone can provide.  And if it be Thy will, may this be the last General Conference session ever held on this sin-cursed earth.  May the next such assembly be conducted within the jasper walls and on the golden streets of heaven’s Eternal City.

We ask these things in the name of Christ our blessed Savior, and for His sake,

Amen!
