ADvindicate Forums: we're expanding the conversation

We're expanding the conversation by introducing ADvindicate Forums. Now readers can converse on more than just the articles. We've created some new forums for discussion, but we want your input too, so if you have an idea for a new forum, leave a comment under suggestions.

ADvindicate Forums allows you to read comments from the forums and articles. Viewing the most recent comments is easy. Click on the "All posts" tab, and you'll immediately see the most recent comments from all over the website. If you have an account, new comments will be marked with a red dot. The "My feed" tab shows only your comments and any responses to them.

Filter what comments you see in your feed by using the forum bar on the right. For example, if you want to view only the most recent comments from the articles, click on "Recent Comments." This view will exclude all comments made on the forums.

ADvindicate Forums is where you'll find a list of broad topics of which you can play a part in creating. Under each topic you will be able to create your own thread. For example, let's say John wants to share a news article that mentions Adventists. He would click on "News," create a title for his thread and post it. Then others will be able to respond.

We're expanding our help forums too. If you have questions about any of the topics listed or have a suggestion, you can either search through the questions already asked or create a new one.

ADvindicate Forums features a search engine dedicated to comments, which makes it easier when you're looking for a particular comment. You can search by article, thread or user.

You'll never have to leave the ADvindicate Forums page or refresh it as all the comments are posted live. A green dot next to a thread or user's icon indicates he or she is typing a message. As soon as it's posted, you'll see the comment appear.

We've seen what's out there and most of it is archaic, using UBB.Threads (Ultimate Bulletin Boards). The largest forum charges a fee, but here it's all free, and we'd like to give a reboot to Adventist forums. Come check ADvindicate Forums out and take an active part in expanding the conversation.

First and last name are required when leaving a comment. Please read our comment policy before leaving a comment. Comments

A Christian majority may be tempted to assume that state support of Christianity would be benevolent because Christianity is true or morally beneficial. History counsels caution. Once government acquires power to define and support “Christianity,” government must determine which Christianity qualifies. It must choose among denominations, doctrines, moral teachings, institutions, and religious authorities. What begins as governmental protection of religion can become governmental supervision of religion. The church may believe it has gained a powerful ally, only to discover that the state has become its regulator.

“Perfection of character is attainable by every one who strives for it. This is made the very foundation of the new covenant of the gospel. The law of Jehovah is the tree; the gospel is the fragrant blossoms and fruit which it bears.”

Ellen G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 1, p. 212.

THE SIREN SUMMONS OF FALSE ASSURANCE

This is a far more beguiling deception than the mainstream evangelical heresy of “once saved, always saved.”  This evangelical Adventist version of this heresy tells people that while the overt rejection of Jesus and His Holy Spirit will cost the Christian salvation, acts of sin presumably will not.
